My friend needed some photos for a project she is starting and I came across this photograph. I took it while at a pumpkin patch in Bloomington, and I have come to really enjoy it.

Headshots

I was given the chance to take some headshots of the Lockport drama club and here are a few of them! I really don't do many photographs of people because I am not totally comfortable with it yet so I was excied to have this opprotinity : ) We did them on the stage at the school so I only had the red curtain for a background, but it ended up going pretty smoothly.

Figuring it out

Well, my last photography project took a lot more work and a lot more digging into myself than expected, so sorry for the delay in posting.

Starting this project I became very unhappy with what was happening, trying to use the studio to produce the images that I wanted. I ended up going back to my original setting of rooms in houses and apartments using the natural lighting from a wondow or the lighting that was already produced. This made the images have a lot more depth and space to fall into, therefore making myself much happier with the outcome. I enjoy pushing the boundries of photography and using the camera as a non representational tool, questioning the image as a photograph, painting or collage.

expanding

I have started to expand on my abstract series and I think it is going in an interesting direction. I haven't decided how I exactly feel about it yet, but I am enjoying all the experimenting that is going on.

everyday objects

This is a series of everyday objects that I have abstracted to make the mundane more interesting. I have posted some of these photographs before, but I wanted to put more of the series up. I may be extending this project and see what direction I might go in next, so I have been thinking about this group of work a lot. I always seem to go back to this series because it is the most exciting for me and have found a great admiration for abstract photography. This is something I find the most thrilling in photography. I am hoping this will maybe get me somewhere in the long run if I keep working at it,we will have to see. . .
